For pathology laboratories, maintaining and improving quality is vital in making sure that their services are fit for purpose and that users can access their services at the point of need. In managing their quality management systems (QMS), the South African National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) have chosen Q-Pulse, the compliance management solution from Scottish software developers Gael Ltd. With more than 250 laboratories and more than 5,500 employees, the NHLS is the largest diagnostic pathology service in South Africa, serving 80% of the country's population and providing laboratory services to the South African Department of Health, provincial hospitals, local authorities and medical practitioners.
