Business Mapping
When developing this 5th generation of Q-Pulse, one of our primary aims was to assist organisations develop an ethos of continuous improvement and advancement, not only in the field of compliance, but across the organisation.
This involves making difficult decisions to create the environment and appetite for successful change. Time and effort is required to improve and sometimes tolerating short-term inconvenience is required to enable improvement to materialise. With business change you must take a step back and must invest time, effort and resources in the short term to be able to progress and reap long term benefits.
Many people and organisations resist the step back and consequently fail to take actions that lead to progress. Our objective with Q-Pulse was to make the initial step back less painful and help reduce the time required to step forward. We also wanted to ensure the forward step is infinitely more powerful.
For this reason, we have integrated a business mapping tool into Q-Pulse that will reduce the time and effort required to assess, investigate and understand what needs to be improved. It will help you identify potential solutions, define which is the most appropriate and convince others that your ideas and plans will make for successful implementation and significant payback.
What can I use the Mapping tool for?
The inclusion of the mapping tool transforms Q-Pulse from simple compliance record management to a powerful application that enables you to take the right decisions for you and your organisation.
Mapping helps you to collect, organise and understand information related to a problem. The business mapping tool is a powerful application in its own right, not just when used with Q-Pulse, and is particularly useful for:
-

Brainstorming, problem solving or assessing the impact of any change proposed. Potential solutions can be quickly assessed, making it easy to determine the most appropriate course of action. The same process can be followed to consider the competency of your organisation, processes and people in meeting current or future needs. Investigating incidents and non-conformances - discover the root cause and avoid the repetition of any issues. Planning, e.g. audits, both internal and external or when planning projects. You can brainstorm, decide and plan your objectives, tasks and activities. Identify and prioritise interdependencies and thoroughly consider any assumptions and risks that may arise in the process. |
Overall, the mapping tool can be used for business planning and determining
organizational objectives. Use it to identify and manage the changes required
to people, skills, processes, equipment, materials and management controls
to achieve objectives. It means that the discipline of compliance can be
used to derive organisational-wide advancement.
Conclusion
We are delighted with the power and the flexibility of Q-Pulse when integrated
with the mapping tool. It is a combination that unlocks significant benefits
and provides outstanding results for both individuals and organisations
in rapid time.
